Welcome back to Goetze to Know Us, a series where we spotlight outstanding Goetze's Candy Company employees. We are happy to introduce you to Spaulding! He was the first of the 6th generation to work with the company full time. Over the last (almost) decade, he has worked in the kitchen, as a machine mechanic, in our shipping and warehouse department and is currently our Building Manager!
Name: Spaulding Goetze III Job/title: Building Manager Number of years employed by Goetze’s: 9.5 years Caramel Creams® or Cow Tales® – if you had to pick one, which would it be and why? I would pick Cow Tales®, especially the minis! They are the perfect size to hit that sweet spot and are so good fresh off the line. Do you have any memories with our products growing up? As a sixth generation Goetze, I have many memories of the candy from childhood. I can remember coming into the factory for the first time and seeing all the amazing machinery running the candy, as a child it all seemed so big! I also remember the wonderful smell of the candy cooking in the kitchen, the same smell that I get to enjoy every day now and it never fails to bring me back to my childhood! How do you eat your Caramel Creams®? (eg: center first, all in one bite) I prefer to eat it all at once but make it a two bite treat! I love the combination of the cream and caramel together but taking two bites allows me to enjoy it longer. Favorite Goetze’s flavor? My favorite flavor is Strawberry Smoothie Cow Tales®! I know this flavor can be hit or miss for some people, but I always get excited when we run it. Plus, it comes in the mini size which I enjoy! Dream Caramel Creams®/ Cow Tales® flavor or partnership: I really enjoy crabs so I think it would be interesting to try an Old Bay flavored Cow Tale®. If you could describe your experience at Goetze’s in one word, what would it be? Exciting! Most memorable moment at work: It’s hard to pinpoint a favorite memory because I create them every day. One that really sticks out is when I had the opportunity to look at machinery overseas in Dusseldorf, Germany! It was great to be a part of the advancement for new wrapping technology. What does it mean to you to be a part of the team? Supporting others to help them grow, while also working to grow the company. Is there a quote that you live by that has helped you grow in your career? Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard

Sadie, the owner of Say Delicious, created special Caramel Creams® donuts for Father's Day to enjoy donuts with Dad and we are pleased to have the opportunity to share her special story about her father.
Sadie's Dad has been in her life since she was 5 when he adopted her and the two have been extremely close ever since. Sadie's parents have always supported her from cheer team captain in high school to signing her name on the dotted line to join the United States Navy. After leaving the Navy, Sadie and her Mom decided to follow their dreams and open a bakery to sell Sadie’s famous cookies. It was her parents’ idea to bring the donuts on board. When Sadie was a kid, her Dad introduced her to a small donut shop in his hometown of East Hampton, New York, called Dreesen’s Donuts. They fell in love with them, and it has always been a childhood memory of Sadie's to get warm, fresh donuts everytime they would visit. Sadie's favorite summer memories always involved donuts and the beach. Later, they discovered her Dad went to high school with the new owner of Dreesen’s Donuts, and they discussed bringing his famous donuts to Maryland. The owner agreed and the rest is history! Sadie's Dad is now retired and works full-time as a volunteer for Say Delicious as the "Donut Guy.” He is also affectionately known around the shop as Father Donut, Donut Master, but most importantly, Sadie's Dad. Her Dad is her role model, the most wonderful, caring person, and is loved by all. Happy Father's Day, Ron Walcott, and to all the hard-working, loving Dad’s everywhere! Visit Say Delicious! They're located at: 📍 19 W Bel Air Ave, Aberdeen, MD ⏰ Shop Hours 7 AM - 2 PM Welcome back to Goetze To Know Us, a series where we spotlight outstanding Goetze Candy Company employees. Every year, Goetze’s Candy Company proudly participates in Kennedy Krieger’s Festival of
Trees. The annual fundraiser, returning for the first time in person in three years due to the pandemic, benefits the patients, students and families that Kennedy Krieger Institute serves. To prepare the tree, spirited Goetze’s employees gathered to ideate and decorate the “Candy Cane Wishes and Caramel Creams® Kisses” Christmas tree. The tree was decorated with a variety of candy-themed ornaments, including handmade Caramel Creams® ornaments. Many of the ornaments feature recipe cards and coupons for the Goetze’s Online Store tucked away on the inside. A sweet surprise! We celebrated National Cow Day on July 12th! In honor of our favorite cow - Duke - the mascot of Cow Tales® and to highlight our dedication to making treats with quality ingredients, including real milk. To mark the occasion, we reached out to our fellow cow lovers on social media to bring awareness and appreciation to this special day and to the Cow Tales® brand. As a result, our favorite agriculture farmer influencers (and even some cow-flueners) from around the country joined in on the National Cow Day fun! We appreciate the agriculture industry so much for their tireless work which enables us to make our sweet treats. As a “thank you” we sent a special Cow Tales® care package to these influencers. Check out these amazing cow lovers opening their special treats! National Cow Day 2022 was a huge success and we are thrilled so many people were able to celebrate with us on this “dairy special day.”
Which holiday should we celebrate next? We are so excited to collaborate with a fellow family-owned business, Sheetz, to launch a new series of Cow Tales® flavor inspired milkshakes. Sandy Mazza, Sheetz Beverage Research and Development Manager, and Meghan Brody, VP Strategy and Operations here at Goetze’s, shared the exciting collaboration with the viewers of FOX45 in Baltimore.
Customers are encouraged to try a new way of enjoying Cow Tales® treats, which have been carried in Sheetz for over a decade. Sandy and her team have created a delicious variety of milkshake flavors that emulate Goetze's flavors to honor the nostalgic treat. Seasonal Schedule:
You can never have enough Cow Tales®, so with your milkshake purchase, you’ll receive a Cow Tales® mini for free. We are thrilled to collaborate with another cherished family-owned business to spread the deliciousness! Check out your local Sheetz to try these amazing milkshake creations. Welcome back to Goetze To Know Us, where we spotlight outstanding Goetze Candy Company employees. We’re honored to introduce you to Reyna, one of our dedicated Crew Leaders.
Reyna has been working at Goetze's Candy Company for over two decades. Her most notable accomplishment while working with us is the service award she received after her first key year at the company. “Goetze’s Candy Company feels like a second home to me. My experience here has been so enjoyable – it makes me feel happy to know that I bring a smile to everyone’s faces who loves Goetze’s candy.” Reyna is a Cow Tales® lover because they are so easy to snack on, with her favorite being the original chocolate flavor. We are so grateful for Reyna and thankful for all of her hard work over the years. This year, we celebrated National Caramel Day on April 5, as an ode to our favorite sweet treats. Here are a few of our Caramel Day highlights: We shared a new recipe with the viewers of WJZ in Baltimore. Emily Goetze, Quality Supply Coordinator, and Meghan Brody, VP Strategy and Operations, demonstrated how to make a decadent Caramel Creams Whipped Tarte. Our friends on social media got in on the Caramel Day fun, too – check out these beauty shots of our beloved Cow Tales® and Caramel Creams® being celebrated by some of the area’s biggest foodies: We also teamed up with The Charmery, a popular Maryland ice cream factory based in Baltimore, and supplied them with Cow Tales® Minis for the holiday. Each customer was offered a free caramel topping at any location; it was a hit!
