Goetze to Know Us: Meet Emily

Welcome back to Goetze To Know Us, a series where we spotlight outstanding Goetze Candy Company employees. We’re honored to introduce you to Emily, a sixth generation Goetze who currently works as a Supplier Quality Coordinator and has a very special story.

Caramel Creams® or Cow Tales® – if you had to pick one, which would it be and why?

• I love them both but if I had to choose one, Caramel Creams®! They’re so addicting, it’s hard to eat just one.
  

Do you have any memories of our products growing up?

• My relationship with the brand is unique as a sixth Generation Goetze. I started working at a young age assisting in our production department every summer, which taught me a lot. This allowed my love for the products and the company to flourish.
  

 How do you eat your Caramel Creams®? (eg: center first, all in one bite)

• All at once! There is nothing better than the combination of the caramel and sweet cream!
  

Favorite Goetze’s flavor?

• It’s a tossup between the Original Caramel and Caramel Apple. On a daily basis I gravitate towards the original, but my favorite has to be the Caramel Apple.
  

If you could describe your experience at Goetze’s in one word, what would it be?

• Inspiring
  

Most memorable moment at work:

• It’s hard to pinpoint a favorite moment because I have so many, but a highlight has to be when I attended my first Sweets & Snacks Expo. I was mesmerized walking into the convention hall and seeing our booth all lit up for the first time. It was also wonderful getting to meet the brilliant people who make up the confectionary industry. I will never forget the comradery everyone shows to one another, making our industry so sweet.
  

What does it mean to you to be a part of the team?

• Being a part of the team means always being willing to step in and help where needed. To always support and communicate with one another to achieve the bigger picture and meet goals.
  

 Is there a quote that you live by that has helped you grow in your career?

• Like my grandfather (Spaulding Goetze Sr.) said in his 1998 induction to the Candy Hall of Fame, “Love every minute of the climb.” This resonates with me every day because no matter what arises, it’s all a part of the journey and your perspective of every situation to grow and achieve your goals.
