Made In Maryland USA
Goetze's Candy is a confectionery company located in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1895 as the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company, Goetze's is celebrating more than 125 years of making sweet treats in the USA.
In the 1940's, Goetze's Candy discontinued its chewing gum and dedicated manufacturing to caramel products. Today, Goetze's Candy Company makes two brands of chewy caramel candy: Caramel Creams® and Cow Tales®.
Enjoying Goetze’s Caramel Creams® and Cow Tales® is a sweet way to support American-made! Goetze’s Candy was founded as The Baltimore Chewing Gum Company in 1895, manufacturing a variety of confections in Baltimore. In the early 1900’s Goetze’s expanded to a larger facility on Monument Street and began production of chewy caramels. A century later, Caramel Creams® and Cow Tales® are still made in the same Baltimore building!
In addition to our dedication to manufacturing in the USA, Goetze’s Candy also purchases materials from American suppliers, whenever possible, to support other American businesses. As a 6th generation, family-owned and operated company, Goetze’s Candy is proud to be an American household name and to make our caramels in Maryland.

The Candy AllianceIn November 1999, Goetze’s Candy Co., Inc. joined with other small family owned candy companies, including Spangler, American Licorice, and Jelly Belly to form the Candy Alliance LLC. The Candy Alliance was formed "to establish lawful arrangements to enhance competition in the candy industry, especially with large candy manufacturers, by, among other ways, increasing placement and distribution of Members’ products and lowering their costs, thereby enabling them to lower prices, raise output and give consumers wider choices." All the members are of similar size, have common goals and have found synergies that will enable members to ‘build a better business’ and compete in the crowded market place of confections and snacks. Each member is a standalone entity that operates independently of other members.
