BALTIMORE, MD (March 18, 2016) — Team Give & Goetze kicked off the 2016 race season at the Under Armour Kelly St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock 5k on Sunday March 13th, 2016. There were 13 runners who grabbed their green and joined team Give & Goetze to complete a 5k run through the streets of downtown Baltimore City. Team Give & Goetze completed 40.3 miles, raising over $200 for the Barth Syndrome Foundation. Barth syndrome is an X-linked genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the tafazzin gene, resulting in an inborn error of lipid metabolism. The Barth Syndrome Foundation is the only worldwide volunteer organization dedicated to education, advances in treatment, and finding a cure for Barth syndrome. Together, Give & Goetze team members participate in various races to raise awareness and funds for local non-profit organizations.
