The Goetze's Candy Company proudly manufactures ALL our candies in the GOOD OLD USA! Our factory has been located in Baltimore, Maryland since 1895 and is currently in the 5th generation of operation and ownership. The Goetze Family takes pride in the fact that we purchase materials from the U.S. whenever possible, regardless of price. Materials from the U.S. are governed by the FDA and the USDA following strict guidelines to keep our food supply safe. We feel as a United States family manufacturer it is our responsibility to SUPPORT other U.S. companies and more importantly, other Family Businesses that call our great country their home.

In recent years there has been a thrust from U.S. companies to source products and services from overseas. In some cases materials are only available from outside the United States, for example, the Cocoa Beans necessary to make the Chocolate we all love. Cocoa beans only grow in certain parts of the world due to climate reasons and in this case foreign sourcing has been, and will continue to be, necessary. Where foreign sourcing has become a problem is when it is done purely for cost reasons and done so with undeveloped countries that do not have the safeguards in place that developed countries follow. China, for example, is one country that does NOT protect its food supply as closely as the U.S.A. or Europe. Why are prices of U.S. goods higher than items that are imported from countries like China? Because the U.S. government has put a structure in place to make the products manufactured in the U.S. safer; those products are manufactured under tighter guidelines that just plain cost U.S. manufacturers more to make. So yes, U.S. goods are more expensive but they are for a reason. Think about BUYING AMERICAN PRODUCTS FIRST.

As a U.S. manufacturer, we respect the oversight of the FDA and USDA and understand that the U.S. has the safest food supply in the world. We do not purchase any of our raw ingredients from outside the United States. We use all U.S. suppliers, with an address in the U.S.A.! We hope to publish online a list of all our supplies and the country of origin of each soon.
